Lorneville is accepting resumes for upcoming day and night shift Piping Superintendent opportunities.
This role will support LMC in delivering products and services to our customers safely, with high quality, and efficiently as needed to meet contracted deliverables and company objectives. A successful candidate will lead field execution while demonstrating strong leadership and promoting teamwork. They will be accountable for executing the work of their designated trade, supervising the foreman and union tradespersons assigned to the work being performed to ensure it is planned and executed safely, with good workmanship, and on time.
Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes Required
- 5-10 years or more of proven experience executing construction work in a supervisory role
- Red Seal Certification in designated trade
- The ability to lead and oversee your team in a high-paced project environment
- Proven ability to oversee teams of skilled trades ranging from 50-500
- In-depth understanding in the application of HSE and Quality processes, procedures, and requirements, including local jurisdictional workplace health & safety guidelines
- Excellent communication skills - both verbally and written
- Managing and working with unionized trades
- Good problem solver, methodical thinker, and conflict resolution skills
- Practical experience executing construction work on boilers, electrical components, piping, structural steel, tanks and vessels, rotating and stationary equipment
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism

- Competent user of Microsoft Office software

Job Responsibilities

- Indentify and mitigate project risk
- Implement all company policies & procedures, including HSE & Quality management systems
- Ensure implementation of union agreements remains fair and consistent
- Plan work to maximize efficiency in manpower, materials, and equipment
- Manage unionized workforce, suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors
- Perform site safety walk downs and inspections
- Ensure all parties (supervision/management, foreman, general foreman) are informed of issues, incidents, schedule changes, concerns, etc.
- Manage work permits, absenteeism, timesheets, and manpower requirements
