The Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) Department of Surgical Services is seeking a glaucoma fellowship trained Ophthalmologist to join the Division of Ophthalmology in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.
Eligible applicants must:
- hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Ophthalmology;
- have completed ophthalmology residency (in Canada preferred);
- have a minimum 1 year of glaucoma surgery post graduate fellowship at a recognized program;
- training completed by July 2026 in a recognized fellowship program, or as negotiated with division head;
- and, be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C.
Through the Eye Clinic at Royal Jubilee Hospital the successful candidate would have access to a fluorescein angiography unit, ophthalmic ultrasound, diode and YAG/SLT lasers and a fully equipped treatment room for minor surgical procedures. The successful candidate will also have dedicated surgical time in clinic 6 for glaucoma, cataract and other eye surgery.
Full participation on the on call schedule (1 in 12) is an expectation of this position.
