Line cook Position
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Line Cook to join our team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate should be able to thrive under pressure and work collaboratively with the kitchen staff. Pay is $22 - $24 per hour, with an additional $3 - $5 in cash tips (depending on business levels).
Responsibilities:
- Set up and stock cooking stations with all necessary supplies.
- Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).
- Cook menu items in coordination with other kitchen staff.
- Follow the instructions and guidance of the Executive or Sous Chef.
- Maintain a clean and organized station, managing leftover food responsibly.
- Ensure inventory is stocked and properly maintained.
- Ensure food is prepared and served simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely manner.
- Comply with all nutrition, sanitation regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with both coworkers and customers.
- Effectively utilize downtime and assist coworkers when needed.
- Perform closing duties thoroughly at the end of each shift.
Job Requirements:
- Full-time availability, 24+ hours per week, with 8-10 hour shifts.
- Must be able to work evening shifts, weekends, and major holidays.
- Competitive starting wage ($22- $24/hr), with generous tip-outs for BOH staff (reflecting our belief that hard work deserves recognition).
- Time and a half pay for statutory holidays and overtime hours.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficient in various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and high standards of kitchen safety.
- Strong time-management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations.
- High accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
Education and Experience:
- Food Handler certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Formal culinary training is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of kitchen experience.
