Position Overview
The Summer Student will support the Rocky Mountain Métis Association in serving the needs of citizens within the Association’s designated boundaries. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about Métis culture and interested in supporting community-led initiatives.
The successful candidate will assist with administrative tasks, community outreach, and the promotion of Rocky Mountain Métis programs and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with organizing and promoting upcoming community events
- Support community outreach initiatives to help citizens stay connected to Métis culture and heritage
- Provide administrative support when needed
- Assist the Family Navigator as required
- Help promote Rocky Mountain Métis programs and services
- Support activities involving children and youth
Qualifications
- Be a current secondary or post-secondary student
- Have a strong interest in or knowledge of Métis culture, heritage, and languages
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to work from the Cranbrook office and travel within the service area when required
- Pass a criminal record check prior to hiring
- Hold a valid driver’s licence
- Have access to a reliable vehicle
- Work well with children and youth

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
