Summary
We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our team, focusing on high-end residential decking and outdoor structures. The ideal candidate has strong skills in framing and finishing, a sharp eye for detail, and a commitment to craftsmanship. While the primary focus is residential, occasional commercial projects and lead hand duties may be involved.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the demolition and construction of decks, fences, pergolas, pool houses, gazebos, and other outdoor structures
- Perform a variety of hands-on tasks, including physical labour and material handling
- Support the foreman with daily construction activities and on-site coordination
- Safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools
- Follow all company health and safety guidelines and protocols, including training and reporting requirements
- Work outdoors in a range of weather conditions year-round
- Responsible for own transportation to and from job sites
- Supply and maintain your own tool belt and basic hand tools
- Wear required PPE at all times
- Other duties assigned as required to support site and project needs
Requirements
- 3-5 years of hands-on carpentry experience (deck or outdoor structure experience is a strong asset)
- Proficient with hand and power tools, and knowledgeable in safe tool use
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans
- Confident using imperial measuring tools with precise cuttings and layout skills
- Capable of lifting and handling materials up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while following direction
- Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
- Safety-conscious and reliable, with a willingness to learn and adapt
