We are seeking an enthusiastic, patient-focused Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our growing GTA team. Position Summary
Working directly alongside our Vein Specialist, the RPN will play a vital role in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care throughout the patient’s treatment journey. From preparation and procedural support to recovery and education, you will be an essential part of a close-knit clinical team committed to achieving excellent patient outcomes and creating a positive experience at every visit.
Responsibilities
Clinical Care
● Prepare patients for consultations and procedures.
● Obtain medical history, perform nursing assessments, and record vital signs.
● Assist the physician during minimally invasive vein procedures, including:
● Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA)
● VenaSeal™
● ClariVein®
● Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy
● Cosmetic Sclerotherapy
● Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention and control standards.
● Monitor patient comfort and safety before, during, and after procedures.
● Apply compression bandages and compression stockings following treatment.
● Administer medications as permitted within the RPN scope of practice and physician directives.
● Recognize and respond appropriately to patient concerns or unexpected clinical situations.
Patient Experience
● Educate patients on their diagnosis, treatment plan, recovery expectations, and compression therapy.
● Provide detailed post-procedure instructions.
● Answer patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
● Ensure every patient receives outstanding customer service and feels supported, informed, and comfortable throughout their visit.
Clinic Operations
● Prepare and stock procedure rooms.
● Maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
● Ensure accurate documentation within the EMR.
● Support scheduling and patient flow when required.
● Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain clinic standards.
● Work collaboratively with physicians, vascular sonographers, scheduling coordinators, and administrative staff.
Qualifications
Required
● Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
● Current BLS/CPR Certification.
● Minimum one year of nursing experience.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
● Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
● Comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
● Ability to travel between our Richmond Hill and Bay Street clinics.
Preferred
● Experience in:
● Surgical or procedural nursing
● Vascular surgery
● Cosmetic medicine
● Dermatology
● Interventional radiology
● Plastic surgery
● Ambulatory care
● Experience with electronic medical records.
● Experience with IV starts and assisting during procedures is considered an asset.
