Now Hiring: Full-Time Sous Chef / Line Cook
Fowler's Toad Pizza & Beach Bar is seeking an experienced, motivated, and creative Sous Chef / Line Cook to join our culinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional looking to grow within a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment.
Position Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of kitchen experience
- Journeyman Cook certification preferred
- Valid Safe Food Handlers Certification
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Positive attitude with a professional work ethic
- Clean, organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge & Skills
Successful candidates must have experience and knowledge in:
- Soups and stocks
- Pasta preparation and cooking
- Prime cuts of meat
- Seafood preparation
- Creative appetizers and feature dishes
- Food costing and portion control
- Kitchen organization and sanitation standards
Additional Qualifications
- Strong knife skills and safe knife handling practices
- Fast and efficient with food preparation
- Ability to maintain quality and consistency during busy service periods
- Ability to assist with menu development and daily specials
- Experience training and mentoring junior kitchen staff is an asset
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute menu items to company standards
- Assist with daily kitchen operations
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Assist with inventory management and ordering
- Support the Head Chef in leading kitchen staff
- Help develop new menu features and seasonal offerings
Compensation
$22.00 – $28.00 per hour (Negotiable)
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and skill level.
