Yard location: Ottawa, ON
Workdays: Any day of the week depending on the need
Shift Start time: To be determined based on the needs
What you will do:
- Drive a 5 or 3 ton vehicle to deliver freights to assigned stops within Ottawa and surrounding areas
- Deliver freights in good condition and within scheduled time (40+ deliveries daily)
- Use a handheld device to scan documents and freights
- Load and Unload freight in proper sequence with the use of a dolley and or pallet truck (lift up to 70lbs)
- Complete any necessary paperwork accurately
- Perform all safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspection
- Report on all safety hazards and accidents
- Use a cellular phone to communicate with dispatch ie. Truck breakdowns, delivery concerns, answer calls, texts etc….
- Provide excellent customer service
- Build strong client relationships
- Adhere to safety and compliance regulations
- Additional duties as required

What we require of you:
- High School Diploma
- Valid G Driver’s License
- Clean CVOR and Personal Driver’s Abstract
- Courier or LTL experience is an asset
- Must have 1 year COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVING experience
- Capable of doing physical labour with a great degree of strength and stamina – lift up to 70lbs
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
- Customer Focus – experience providing quality customer service
- Adaptable to change
- Experience working in a fast paced environment
- Experience working independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to work on a team and being a team player
- Must be comfortable with using onboard or handheld computer devices
- Must have a safety and compliance mind set
