Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic team in a busy restaurant environment. This role is essential in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring smooth meal preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation and meal assembly to support kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to meet safety standards
- Support the organization of ingredients, supplies, and stock within the kitchen
- Help with serving food to customers when required, ensuring presentation standards are met
- Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene compliance
- Assist with waste disposal and cleaning schedules to uphold a sanitary work environment
- Support the team during busy service periods by performing various kitchen support tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or food industry preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of cooking, meal preparation, and food handling practices
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Willingness to learn new skills related to kitchen operations and food service
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting or moving supplies as required
