Answer Trailer Rentals & Sales is seeking a full-time Sandblasting & Commercial Painter to refurbish our fleet of trailers.
We are a well-known business located in Spruce Grove. Our company is continuously growing and expanding and now it is time to add another team member.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled, safety-focused Commercial Sandblast & Commercial Painter to perform abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and application of industrial/commercial coatings. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with blast equipment, spray painting, and coating inspection, and works well on job sites under tight schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and maintain abrasive blasting equipment (portable blast pots, blast rooms, air compressors, hoses, nozzles).
- Prepare surfaces by blasting, grinding, and power tool cleaning.
- Mix, thin, and apply primers, epoxies, urethanes, and other industrial coatings using airless/spray equipment, brushes, and rollers.
- Masking, and surface protection to prevent overspray.
- Inspect surfaces and coatings for proper surface profile, cleanliness, and film build; perform touch-ups and rework as needed.
- Follow project specifications, safety procedures, and quality control documentation.
- Maintain equipment, consumables, and work areas; report defects or issues to supervisor.
- Communicate effectively with managers and team members on-site.
Required Qualifications:
- 1+ years’ experience in commercial/industrial blasting and painting.
- Proficient with blast pots, compressors, respirators, and airless spray equipment.
- Familiarity with coating systems and surface prep standards.
- Ability to read simple specifications and follow technical directions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, and in varied weather/industrial environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety (PPE, respiratory protection).
Preferred:
- Experience with abrasive media selection, blast profile measurement, and blasting.
