Olymbec is currently seeking an Inspection and Maintenance Technician to join our Fire Safety team. By joining us, you’ll become a key member in ensuring the safety of Olymbec’s buildings and tenants.
This position not only responds to emergency calls during the shift but also oversees the continuous inspection, testing, and maintenance of our fire protection and fire alarm equipment.
The Inspection and Maintenance Technician will report to the Fire Safety Director and Fire Safety Supervisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support daily operations for inspections, testing, and maintenance (ITM) of fire protection systems in compliance with provincial regulations and insurance requirements.

Assist third-party companies in completing ITM of equipment and conducting regular inspections of:

Fire alarm systems
-
Fire pumps
-
Sprinkler systems
-
Emergency lighting
-
Fire extinguishers
-
Issue and supervise:
-
Hot work permits
-
System impairment permits (Red Tag)
-
Perform other related tasks as needed.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the fire protection field; experience as a fire safety inspection technician is an asset;

Knowledge of building systems, fire alarm systems, intrusion systems, fire protection, and sprinkler systems;

Experience managing building safety equipment, including inspection, testing, and maintenance;

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

Strong organizational and time management skills;

Ability to handle stressful situations;

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;

Detail-oriented.
