B.S.L. Machine Ltd a is leading manufacturer in steel component design, fabrication and repairs including a specialty in gearing and gearbox remanufacturing.
B.S.L. has been in the machining industry since 1965, primarily serving industrial applications in the
Edmonton area.
We are currently recruiting for a 3rd or 4th year apprentice machinist. We will not be reviewing any applications other than those who meet this qualification.
Responsibilities:
- Study job orders and interpret blueprints to determine operations to be performed.
- Operate machines by setting up and adjusting three and four-jaw chucks (where applicable), tools, attachments, collets, bushings, gears, stops and indicating devices
- Set up and operate machine tools to perform repetitive operations
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Work with blueprints to produce work pieces conforming to quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Load, unload and move products and materials using basic material handling equipment and by hand, up to 50lbs.
- Machine Specifics:
- Working under a Journeyman machinist to setup & operate small to mid-size engine lathes and manual milling machines.
Experience:
- Apprentice machinist, having fully completed a minimum of 2nd or 3rd year trade school.
- Experience in using 4 jaw chucks is large asset
Schedule:
- 8 hours, Day shift
- Overtime available as needed
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends if required
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
