We are seeking a skilled operator to join our residential earthworks team.
Job Description:
We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator who strives to provide very high quality work.
Must be comfortable operating heavy equipment such as, various types of excavators varying from a mini excavator to 35 ton, dozers of various sizes and skid steers. Occasionally also operating of small tools; water pumps, plate tampers, jumping jacks and generators, etc.
Must be able to professionally deal with fellow employees, superiors, clients/residents &/or members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner. Transportation to and from construction sites will the employee’s responsibility.
Must be prepared and clothed to work in all variations of weather.
Able to work long and flexible work hours during the height of construction season, including some weekends.
Skills Required:
- We require a good safety record and the highest degree of dependability.
- High school education or equivalent
- Must have experience operating heavy equipment
- Must have 3 years+ experience with Earthworks
- Able to work long days, flexible work hours & some weekends
- Valid “G” driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the role (heavy lifting, bending, climbing)
- Strong problem solving skills
- Exhibits strong teamwork, verbal and written skills
- Ability to work safely in a fast pace environment
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
- Demonstrates superior time management skills
- Must speak fluent English
