Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Truck Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive repair, heavy equipment maintenance, and electrical systems. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining large diesel trucks and industrial machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Candidates with dealership experience and familiarity with various heavy equipment are highly preferred. The position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment, utilizing a wide array of hand tools and power tools.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy diesel trucks and industrial equipment.
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery as needed.
- Repair or replace components including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulic lines.
- Utilize welding skills for fabrication or repair tasks when necessary.
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards.
- Assist in assembly or disassembly of machinery during repairs or upgrades.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty diesel trucks; dealership experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair, electrical systems, hydraulics, and schematics.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems related to industrial machinery is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs.
- Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
