Head of People
The Head of People Operations owns AMZ Prep's people strategy end-to-end, from recruiting and onboarding to culture, compensation, and employee development. This role partners closely with senior leadership to ensure AMZ Prep attracts and retains top talent, maintains a strong and inclusive culture, and builds scalable people programs that support a growing, distributed team spanning remote corporate roles and 20+ fulfillment facilities across the US and Canada.
Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle recruiting across all levels and functions, partnering with hiring managers to define requirements, manage pipelines, and close candidates while staying within budget.
- Lead organizational design so the right people are in the right roles, managing a lean, efficient headcount structure as the company scales.
- Build and run onboarding and offboarding processes that set team members up for success from day one.
- Lead learning and development initiatives, including training programs, mentorship, and career growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain systems to identify, retain, and reward high performers, including recognition programs, compensation strategies, and career pathing.
- Drive culture programming, including team engagement initiatives and the annual company retreat.
- Run regular people check-ins and pulse surveys to monitor employee sentiment and address concerns proactively.
- Oversee compensation reviews, ensuring pay equity and alignment with market benchmarks.
- Manage payroll and benefits administration with accuracy, compliance, and a positive employee experience.
- Own and optimize the company's HRIS and hardware infrastructure, keeping systems accurate, scalable, and ready to support day-to-day operations.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across every jurisdiction where AMZ Prep operates in the US and Canada.
- Partner with senior leadership on ad hoc organizational projects, headcount planning, and people strategy.

Skills and Qualifications
- 7+ years in a senior HR or People Operations leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of US and Canadian employment law, HR best practices, and compensation benchmarking.
- Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Proven ability to build and scale people programs in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
- High emotional intelligence, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism.
- Strategic thinker and collaborative partner, comfortable influencing at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Google Workspace, Notion, Slack, Loom, n8n, and other AI tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Pay: $65,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
