Security Guard - Second-in-command
Concord Security is currently seeking an experienced and motivated 2IC (Second-in-Command) Security Guard to join our team at a high-profile government facility in Victoria.
This leadership role is ideal for an experienced security professional with strong communication, operational coordination, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will assist site leadership in overseeing daily operations while ensuring a safe, professional, and customer-focused environment for staff, visitors, and dignitaries.

$24/hour for 2IC shifts

If you are picking up additional standard site shifts/event shifts are paid at regular site rate $21.50

Assist the Site Manager in overseeing daily site operations and security functions

Support scheduling operations, including staff coordination and scheduling software management

Maintain strong working relationships with clients, visitors, tenants, and team members

Ensure site operational needs are met efficiently and professionally

Coordinate and assist with special events and high-profile visits onsite

Handle keys, key audits, and secure access procedures

Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional security presence

De-escalate conflicts and respond effectively to emergency situations

Conduct regular foot patrols to ensure safety and security of personnel, property, and equipment

Write detailed reports including incident, liability, emergency, and daily activity reports
-
Monitor for irregularities such as safety hazards, security breaches, or suspicious activity

Communicate effectively using two-way radios, phones, and computer applications
-
Assist with crowd control and removal of trespassers when required

Provide first aid and emergency response as needed

Support the security team with day-to-day operational and technical requirements

Minimum 1 year of customer service and/or security experience preferred

Previous supervisory or leadership experience in security is an asset

Valid BC Security Worker License

Valid First Aid Certification is an asset

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Strong knowledge of de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques

Ability to make immediate decisions while remaining calm under pressure

Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts

Experience working in high-profile or government environments is considered an asset
