Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to support our culinary team in delivering exceptional food service. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation and safety, and a passion for hospitality. This role involves supervising kitchen operations, managing staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining a positive customer experience within a dynamic restaurant environment.
Duties
- Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training, mentoring, and conducting interviews for new team members
- Prepare and oversee food preparation processes to maintain high-quality standards
- Manage POS systems such as Micros POS and handle cash transactions accurately
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper food handling procedures are followed
- Enforce food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in compliance with health codes
- Support restaurant management in implementing policies, scheduling shifts, and maintaining operational excellence
- Lead by example in providing excellent customer service and hospitality to guests
- Assist with barista duties or serving responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant management, or hospitality roles with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS and cash handling procedures
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively and foster a positive work environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interviewing and team management
- Background in the food industry, including restaurant or hotel experience preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, food handling standards, and hospitality best practices
- Previous experience in supervising staff or managing a restaurant is highly desirable
