Creative Floral & Balloon Shop Associate

Balloon Bouquets Plus Flowers & Gifts is looking for a creative, reliable person who enjoys hands-on work, working with people, and learning new things to join our small team.
We are a well-established flower, balloon and gift shop in McIvor Mall. We’re looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is happy helping wherever needed in a small-shop environment.
This is not a floral-design-only position. Our team works closely together, and everyone helps with the day-to-day operation of the shop.
The role may include:
- Creating floral arrangements for everyday occasions, sympathy, celebrations and custom orders
- Making helium balloon bouquets using foil and latex balloons
- Helping customers in person and by phone
- Taking and entering orders accurately
- Processing flowers and maintaining work areas
- Cleaning, organizing and general shop duties
- Helping with larger orders, busier periods and seasonal work
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is creative, dependable and willing to learn
- Enjoys working with customers
- Is comfortable working closely as part of a small team
- Can switch easily between flowers, balloons, phones, customers and general shop tasks
- Is comfortable taking direction and learning our way of doing things
- Takes pride in accuracy, presentation and customer service
- Is available for Saturdays in rotation
- Has enough flexibility to help cover staff days off, busier weeks and occasional additional hours when needed
Floral design experience is an asset, but not required for the right person.
Experience with balloons, customer service, retail, floral design, or the FTD POS system is also an asset.
Hours
This is a part-time position with variable hours. Scheduling will include Saturdays in rotation, weekday coverage for staff days off, and occasional additional hours during busier periods.
Wage will be discussed with suitable candidates based on experience and fit.
