Supervisor-Branch Operations Toronto
This position reports to the Manager /VP Retail/Head Retail and is primarily responsible for performing the following functions:
Roles & Responsibilities of Supervisor
· Evaluate personal progress and actions to ensure alignment with Bank's vision and operational goals
· Effectively communicate and interpret the Bank's strategic vision to employees within areas of responsibility
· Work collaboratively with other Branch staff to achieve positive results
· Enable subordinates to grow through feedback, instruction, and encouragement
· Awareness and complete knowledge of Policies, Guidelines & Procedures of the Bank and ensure that the operations of the Bank are ins strict compliance and adherence to the Policies, Guidelines & Procedures of the Bank
· Attract potential customers by answering product and service questions; providing information about other products and services
· Answer enquiries courteously and resolve issues related to customer account
· Follow Compliant Resolution Procedure
· Act as Joint Custodian and discharge duties of handling Vault Operations, ATM Cash, Security Forms, Debit Cards
· Account Opening- Initial interaction with customer, perform ascertain identity procedures formalities, fill out account opening form and other related activities including verification in Finacle
· Post/authorize transactions in Finacle within rights prescribed in User Matrix
· Obtain information such as declaration of source of fund, beneficiary details in case of remittances from the customer, wherever applicable
· Ensure scanning of all vouchers, outward and inward clearing cheques, account opening forms, and related documents and record in the Register
· Verify signature of all inward clearing cheques in Finacle and posting as per their posting rights including review of list of cheques, tallying amount, return memo etc prepared by CSR
· Review of list for outward clearing instruments and posting as per their posting rights. Ensure timely receipt of credit of outward clearing in BMO account
· Remittances- Initial scrutiny of remittance application including checking of limits, source of fund and name scan. Processing the request for drafts/TT's as applicable. Preparation of Large Cash Transaction Reports/STRs for review of Assistant Manager
· Attending to telephone calls/telemarketing of banking products
· Checking inward mail receipt/entry/distribution
· Checking outward mail/dispatch
· Processing of all the transaction recelved over fax after ensuring authorization from Branch Head
· Advise SR for generating and despatching GIC renewal advice with GIC disclosure
· Sending of GIC Maturity Notices on periodic basis
· Preparation of T5 slips and mailing to clients for verification of Assistant Managers & Branch Head
· Preparation of TSA/NR4 return for verification of Assistant Managers & Branch Head
· Safe Deposit Box operations
· Balancing/ reconciliation/ renewal advising of RRSP accounts with OTC
· Reconciliation of all office accounts (eg. Official cheque, sundry, suspense and
· charges) and BMO account
· Fixed Assets reconciliation including Depreciation
· Handling court/CRA/regulatory orders/notices
· Checking Day books daily and escalate any discrepancy observed
· Migrate customers to INB / Mobile Banking
· Addition of new INB requests and follow up of for new/reset requests
· Timely completion of online trainings
· File and maintain records as per Bank's Record Retention Policy
· Follow Bank's Privacy Policy
· Assist Assistant Manager/Manager with any specific project
· Act as an administrator for SGIC (Student GIC)
· Responsible in checking SGIC Portal daily for any requests received
· Replying to any queries received for all GIC applications
· Aiding in getting the application(s) completed and submitted through the GIC Portal
· Responsible in sending the wire payment instructions for SGIC
· Opening account and providing SGIC investment certificate upon receiving funds
· Responsible in handling any queries related to KYC and account activations for GIC
Job Requirements
- University degree in business, finance, economics, accountancy or similar area required.
- Strong communication skills with ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to understand various operations and assess the effectiveness of controls.
- Knowledge of the financial sector
- Ability to problem-solve and multi-task.
- Work effectively in a group environment.
- Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and rapid change.
- Experience using data analytics and visualization tools would be an asset.
