We are seeking a professional and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. Experience with electronic medical records, medical terminology, and office management systems is essential. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic medical environment, supporting both clinical and administrative functions to ensure smooth daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
- Verify patient information and update electronic medical records accurately using systems such as Epic and Dentrix
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting insurance information and co-payments
- Prepare and organize patient charts, documentation, and other administrative files
- Coordinate appointment scheduling with providers, ensuring efficient flow of patient visits
- Handle correspondence, emails, and other communication channels in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote a welcoming environment
- Support office staff with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and faxing
Requirements
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is highly preferred
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Epic or Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Experience with office software including Microsoft Office Suite or similar programs
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience working in dental or medical offices is a plus
