About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Draftsperson to join our team under the Youth Employment Program (YEP). The successful candidate will support engineering and design projects by preparing technical drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Inventor. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and assemblies using AutoCAD, Tekla and Inventor.
- Assist engineers and estimators in the development and documentation of design concepts.
- Review and revise drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Organize and maintain drawing files and design documentation.
- Support project teams with technical drafting tasks as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting standards and design processes.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with AutoCAD, Tekla or Inventor in a drafting or design environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
Youth Employment Program (YEP) Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify for this position under the Youth Employment Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Be unemployed or underemployed.
- Be a recent graduate from a college or university program.
- Not currently receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits.
