Location: Belleville, Ontario, Canada and surrounding project sites
Company: Strong Bros. General Contracting Ltd.
Shift/Hours: Monday – Friday, full-time. Hours may vary based on operational needs, weather, project schedules, site conditions, and business needs. Additional hours may be required.
Compensation Range: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour based on experience

About This Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Foreman to support civil construction projects across Ontario.
This is a hands-on field leadership role responsible for coordinating daily crew activities, supporting productivity, maintaining safe work practices, and helping ensure site work is completed efficiently and to company standards.
The successful candidate will bring civil construction experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work closely with Site Supervisors, Project Managers, crew members, subcontractors, suppliers, customers, and inspectors.
Responsibilities:
Crew Leadership & Site Coordination:
- Lead, direct, and support crew members, labourers, operators, drivers, subcontractors, and other workers on site
- Coordinate daily work activities based on project priorities, site conditions, supervisor direction, and operational needs
- Support civil construction activities, including excavation, grading, concrete, drainage, aggregate placement, site preparation, restoration, and general construction work
- Assist with planning labour, equipment, materials, deliveries, tools, and site access for daily work
- Monitor work progress, productivity, safety, quality, site conditions, materials, equipment, and crew needs
- Identify and report delays, deficiencies, hazards, equipment concerns, material shortages, changes in site conditions, or other project concerns
- Help ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, site instructions, company standards, and applicable regulations
Field Work & Operational Support:
- Work hands-on with the crew as required to support daily site activities
- Assist with site setup, excavation support, grading, concrete work, drainage work, material placement, traffic control setup, clean-up, and general labour duties
- Operate tools, small equipment, and other assigned equipment when trained and authorized
- Operate company vehicles as required for site support, deliveries, inspections, or other work-related duties
- Ensure tools, materials, equipment, access routes, and work areas are maintained in a safe and organized condition
- Report equipment or vehicle defects, maintenance concerns, incidents, spills, property damage, or near misses promptly
Documentation & Safety:
- Complete required documentation, including daily reports, timesheets, safety forms, inspections, tickets, site photos, and other project records
- Ensure workers follow company policies, site rules, PPE requirements, traffic plans, and safe work procedures
- Support toolbox talks, safety meetings, orientations, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite, including access routes, work areas, storage areas, tools, equipment, and materials
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with employees, customers, contractors, inspectors, suppliers, and the public
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous civil construction, foreman, crew lead, excavation, grading, concrete, drainage, or related field experience is required
- Previous experience leading crews, coordinating daily work, or acting as a site lead is considered an asset
- Ability to read and understand basic drawings, grades, site instructions, work plans, safety documents, and project requirements
- Ability to communicate clearly with crew members, Site Supervisors, Project Managers, subcontractors, customers, inspectors, suppliers, and other site representatives
- Ability to complete required forms, reports, inspections, timesheets, tickets, and other documentation accurately and on time
- Valid driver’s licence in good standing
- Acceptable driver’s abstract that meets company and insurance requirements
- The company may obtain and review the employee’s driver’s abstract every three months, or as otherwise required
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and able to prioritize work in a fast-paced construction environment
- Must comply with company health and safety requirements and be fit for duty while leading work, performing site duties, or driving company vehicles
