Job Summary:
The Production Technician will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring that manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety protocols. The Production Technician will collaborate with various departments to meet production goals while maintaining high standards of quality.
Job Functions (but not limited to):
- Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance. Conduct regular inspections of products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment malfunctions or production issues. Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, including output levels and quality metrics.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Assist in training new employees in manufacturing processes and equipment operation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Study and interpret drawings, blueprints, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.
- Determine sequence of operations, materials for the job, and setup requirements.
- Set up and operate machining equipment utilized by the organization to ensure equipment operations are at accepted standards for the type of tooling being used.
- Provide verification of dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Mold release / spray control / spray gun maintenance, including polishing/cleanup procedures.
- Measure, examine and test completed parts, identifying defects and ensuring conformance to specifications and drawings.
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to ensure quality of production. Report all machine malfunctions to immediate supervisor.
- Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including CNC lathe, manual lathes, and manual mill.

- Cross-training and mentoring new and existing employees.
- Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and performing basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
- Follows standardized work and adheres to safe work practices and procedures in a continuous improvement environment.
- Assist with office administration / shipping-receiving as necessary.
- Cross-training will be provided on various other production equipment.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate various types of machinery.
- Ability to effectively diagnose machine malfunctions and concisely communicate detailed root cause(s) of malfunctions.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, high quality control standards and ability to adapt to new technologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to read blue-print and technical manuals.
- Ability to follow precise instructions and prescriptions.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Adaptable to change and willing to cross-train and mentor new staff and to work effectively in a team environment.
- Intermediate-level proficiency in computer skills or a demonstrated ability to quickly acquire proficiency.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum two years’ experience in high pace manufacturing/production environment.
- W.H.M.I.S Training and experience
- English communication skills (written and spoken) required.
- Criminal Records Background Check is required.

- Lift up to 50 lb on a semi regular basis
