Job Scope:
Forklift Operator / Material Handler is required to utilize industrial trucks or tractors equipped to move materials around the factory production floor, warehouse, storage tent and outside shipping and scrap areas. Responsibilities include the loading and unloading of trucks, preparation and transportation of raw material to production as required, supporting control with inventory documentation and full adherence to safety compliance regulations. Need to be adaptable, flexible, accountable and dependable with good attention to detail, have a quality focus and work well with others.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate lifting devices, e.g. forklifts, hoists, elevating platforms, lift beams and swivel hooks
- Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars and lifting devices.
- Accurately ship and receive product
- Support inventory control with accurate documentation
- Follow all workplace safety policies, and compliance regulations
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment
- Accurately weigh and document materials
- Provide production data on tags or labels
- Verify that partial bins contain the correct parts, and initial production tags as authorization to use parts at the work center
- Follow Company policies and procedures
- Maintain safety and housekeeping at all times
- Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor or manager
Qualifications:
- Secondary school education preferred
- 2 years’ experience as a forklift operator
- Forklift Safety Training certificate
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Computer literate
- Professional appearance and manners
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Experience working with quality systems (preferably TS 16949)
Working Conditions:
- Indoor factory environment
- Some outside exposure
- Physical ability to lift up to 20kg/50lb
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Overtime as required
- Appropriate PPE must be worn depending on the task being performed
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
