Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Optometric Administrator to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our optometry practice, providing exceptional patient care, and managing administrative tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient service.
Duties
- Manage front desk operations, including greeting patients and handling inquiries.
- Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar for optimal patient flow.
- Process patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate collection of information.
- Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) with attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Assist with patient care by preparing examination rooms and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with patients and staff.
- Support optical services by providing guidance on eyewear options and assisting with retail sales.
- Collaborate with optometrists to ensure a seamless patient experience from arrival to departure.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and insurance verification as needed.
Requirements
- Previous Optometric office experience is required;
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems; familiarity with Epic is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to optometry practices.
- Experience in patient care and front desk operations within a healthcare environment.
- Optical experience or knowledge of retail sales related to eyewear is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Pay: $17.20-$44.83 per hour
