Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sourdough Baker to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sourdough baking, including proofing, shaping and scoring the dough. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft high-quality artisan sourdough loaves and baked goods in a new, high volume bakery and cafe. Must have experience baking sourdough.
Duties
- Prepare and bake sourdough bread and other baked goods following established recipes and standards
- Handle food safely and maintain proper sanitation throughout the baking process
- Package baked items for retail display or wholesale distribution, ensuring quality and presentation
- Assist with general food preparation tasks, including mixing, shaping, and proofing dough
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Support customer service efforts by providing knowledgeable assistance about products when needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient bakery operations and timely production
Skills
- Proven experience in with sourdough or bread-making techniques
- Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment is a plus
- Strong understanding of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation procedures
- Ability to perform food preparation tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with packaging methods suitable for bakery products
- Kitchen experience within the food industry is highly desirable
