Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. This role involves working with various metal fabrication processes, including welding, cutting, and assembly, to produce high-quality metal components and structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding techniques, mechanical knowledge, and experience with fabrication tools and machinery. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication specifications
- Perform MIG and TIG welding with precision to assemble metal components according to specifications
- Operate plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and hand tools for shaping and forming metal parts
- Use calipers, power tools, and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and quality control
- Rigging and handling heavy materials using cranes or forklifts safely and efficiently
- Assist with machining processes as needed for component fabrication
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Conduct basic troubleshooting on equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks
- Follow manufacturing standards for ductwork, assembly, and construction projects as required
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding (MIG, TIG) and metal fabrication within manufacturing or construction environments
- Mechanical knowledge of machinery such as press brakes, plasma cutters, cranes, forklifts, and hand/power tools
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with calipers, basic math skills for measurements, and schematic interpretation
- Knowledge of rigging procedures and crane operation is a plus
- Experience with machining processes and assembly work preferred
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to welding, fabrication equipment, and heavy machinery
- Construction or ductwork experience is advantageous
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
