Cafe Supervisor — Kits Beach Coffee
Kits Beach Coffee is looking for a Cafe Supervisor to lead our team, run shifts, and help drive the day-to-day operations of a high-volume, community-focused café just steps from the beach.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, cares deeply about team culture and guest experience, and is ready to take ownership of how the café runs across shifts and throughout the week.
About the Role
As a Cafe Supervisor, you are responsible for how the team performs, how service flows, and how each day sets the next up for success.
You’ll lead shifts, support training and development, manage staffing and operations, and ensure the café is consistently running at a high level.
This is not just a “shift lead” position. You are expected to think ahead, solve problems, and take ownership of both people and systems. This is a leadership role that requires leadership experience and skills.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all front-of-house operations during your shift
- Set the tone, pace, and expectations for the team
- Manage staffing, breaks, positioning, and coverage
- Ensure smooth, efficient service and strong guest experience
- Dial in and maintain coffee quality throughout the day and bar quality in the evening
- Train and develop staff across all stations and systems
- Support hiring through trial shifts and onboarding
- Manage communication logs, checklists, reporting, and shift handoffs
- Identify staffing gaps, service issues, and operational opportunities
- Maintain inventory awareness and support ordering and planning
- Ensure each shift sets the next shift and day up for success
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ year’s experience in a high-volume café or hospitality environment
- Previous leadership and management or supervisor experience required
- Strong coffee knowledge and bar skills
- Confident leading a team and making real-time decisions
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Calm and solution-focused under pressure
- Strong communication and people skills
- Someone who takes ownership and leads by example
Schedule & Availability
- Full-time position
- Will work on a 5-day a week biweekly opening/closing rotation schedule
- Open availability for mornings, evenings, and holidays
- Willing to step in to support the team when needed
- Lead evening events and bookings
Compensation
- Starting at $23.00/hour plus tips of six to eight dollars and hour
