We are currently seeking a skilled and tactical Security Specialist to join our team. This role involves providing a high level of visible security service across various respite shelter homes in Toronto, Ontario. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and strong situational awareness while maintaining a customer service-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain daily logs, incident reports, and equipment records
- Provide security coverage across respite shelter locations through monitoring, patrolling, and system oversight
- Respond to routine, emergency, and security-related incidents
- Identify and report security breaches, safety hazards, and suspicious activities
- Provide customer service, assist visitors, and support site operations
- Escort emergency personnel (police, fire, ambulance) when required
- Respond to alarms, support evacuations, and perform emergency procedures
- Conduct access control, screening, and trespass management in accordance with legal guidelines
- Complete incident reporting and follow-up investigations
- Perform site inspections, lock-up/opening procedures, and safety checks
- Work collaboratively with site partners to maintain a safe environment
Requirements/ Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma (Grade 12)
- Minimum 2 years of security experience (tactical experience preferred)
- OR 1 year experience with a relevant Canadian diploma/degree (Police Foundations, Law Enforcement, Investigations, Community Justice, etc.)
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Strong knowledge of Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act, and use of force/arrest procedures
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physically able to stand/walk for extended periods (up to 12-hour shifts)
- Steel-toe boots required
