Your Dog’s Kitchen is a Canadian raw pet food manufacturer focused on producing high-quality, safe, and nutritious raw food products for dogs and cats. We are looking for reliable, hardworking team members to support our growing production, shipping, and receiving operations.
Position Summary
The Production Associate is responsible for assisting with the preparation, portioning, packaging, labeling, shipping, receiving, and handling of raw pet food products and ingredients. This role requires someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, physically capable, and comfortable working with raw meat in a refrigerated production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production
- Handle, prepare, and process raw meat and other ingredients according to company procedures.
- Weigh, portion, package, and label raw pet food products accurately.
- Operate basic production equipment safely and correctly.
- Follow production schedules and work efficiently as part of a team.
- Check products for quality, proper packaging, and correct labeling.
- Report equipment issues, product concerns, or safety hazards to a supervisor immediately.
Shipping Customer Orders
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately for shipment or delivery.
- Verify products, quantities, labels, and order details before orders leave the facility.
- Stage finished goods in the appropriate freezer, cooler, or shipping area.
- Ensure customer orders are packed to maintain product quality and frozen condition.
- Assist with loading orders onto delivery vehicles or carrier pickups.
- Complete shipping paperwork and order documentation as required.
Receiving Ingredients and Supplies
- Receive incoming raw ingredients, packaging materials, and supplies.
- Verify deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, or receiving documents.
- Inspect incoming goods for quality, damage, temperature, labeling, and accuracy.
- Move received ingredients and materials to the proper cooler, freezer, dry storage, or production area.
- Rotate inventory using FIFO procedures where applicable.
- Report shortages, damaged goods, quality concerns, or delivery issues to a supervisor.
Sanitation and Safety
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tools, tables, floors, and production areas.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures at all times.
- Follow all company policies, health and safety requirements, and food handling standards.
- Use required personal protective equipment, including gloves, aprons, hairnets, and other safety gear.
Requirements
- Must be comfortable working with and handling raw meat.
- Previous experience in food production, meat processing, manufacturing, shipping, receiving, or warehouse work is an asset.
- Ability to work in a cold or refrigerated environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment.
- Comfortable picking orders, receiving deliveries, and moving inventory.
- Must follow sanitation, safety, and quality procedures consistently.

- Requires handling raw meat, frozen product, packaging materials, and incoming ingredients.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food safety or sanitation training.
- Experience in raw meat handling or pet food manufacturing.
- Shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience.
- Pallet jack or forklift experience is an asset but not required.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
