Colaneri Estate Winery is a family-owned winery dedicated to producing premium wines and delivering exceptional customer experiences. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our financial operations and help ensure the accuracy of our accounting records.
Overview
The Part-Time Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting management with financial reporting and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate has experience with accounting software, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic winery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process vendor invoices and customer payments.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and POS transactions.
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and account reconciliations.
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll remittances.
- Prepare and file HST returns, LCBO reports and other government remittances.
- Support inventory and cost tracking related to wine production and retail operations.
- Assist with annual budgeting and financial planning processes.
- Prepare documentation and schedules for year-end accountants.
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Assist management with ad hoc financial reporting and administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a winery, hospitality, retail, or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian bookkeeping practices, payroll, and HST requirements.
- Experience reconciling POS systems and e-commerce sales is considered an asset.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in the wine, beverage alcohol, hospitality, or agricultural sectors.
- Familiarity with LCBO reporting and compliance requirements.
- Experience with inventory management and production costing.
