Job Summary
We are seeking a hard-working, motivated Merchandise Quality Control/Warehouse Worker to join our team.
The ideal candidate must enjoy a hands-on approach and has the ability to troubleshoot issues and figure out how things work.
The products you will be testing are everyday household items, toys, games, small household appliances, electronics, and on rare occasions - furniture. The ideal candidate is someone who is mechanically inclined, and can accurately tell if something is missing pieces, is broken, or is in new condition.
Job Type / Category
- Unload trucks approximately once every two weeks
- Responsible for quality control of incoming merchandise, including small, medium and large items
- Responsible for checking several hundred items per day, ranging in size and product
- Once boxes are opened, items are checked for use, damage, missing parts, etc.
- Responsible for testing items as they come in, so a candidate with a technical background is preferred
- Responsible for keeping your work area clean & organized
- Hours may vary dependent on business needs
- Provide general housekeeping duties of warehouse, including sweeping of warehouse floor, cleaning of bathroom, on a rotating basis with colleagues
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
- Must have ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be physically fit, able to stand, bend, lift, pivot, sit, etc. for extended periods of time
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must have a very strong attention to detail, as well as the ability to work efficiently and competently
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to take direction and work independently
- Ability to be cross-trained in other areas an asset
- Forklift license an asset
- Use Excel to access the item manifest, and coordinate with Listers as needed
Hours for this department will vary from 32-38 hours per week, and are always scheduled between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Must not have a criminal record and be bondable.
Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour
