At The CHANCE Centre, our Skill Building Studio is a hands-on, real-world training environment where neurodivergent youth and young adults develop job skills, confidence, and independence through meaningful work.
As part of this role, you will support the production and sale of our official FIFA World Cup 2026™ licensed product line, co-designed and produced by participants in our program.
We are looking for someone who is both creative and structured—someone who can teach hands-on production skills while supporting participants in building workplace readiness in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Position Details
Contract Length: 8 weeks (starting June 1)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Compensation: $18.80/hour
Location: The Chance Centre- Brampton, ON + travel within the GTA required
Key Responsibilities
- Program Delivery & Participant Support
- Provide strengths-based coaching to neurodivergent youth and young adults
- Adapt instructional approaches to meet diverse learning needs (e.g., visual supports, modelling, repetition)
- Break down tasks into clear, manageable steps to support skill development
- Reinforce workplace expectations, including punctuality, teamwork, communication, and safety
- Support participants with emotional regulation and positive social interactions as required
- Production Training & Technical Support
- Deliver hands-on training in:
- Cricut cutting machines
- Heat press operation
- Vinyl application
- UV DTF and DTF printing
- Sublimation printing
- Basic design preparation
- Demonstrate processes clearly and provide guided practice opportunities
- Troubleshoot equipment and production issues in a timely and professional manner
Production Oversight & Quality Control
- Oversee the production of custom merchandise, including apparel, mugs, tumblers, and gift items
- Ensure all products meet established quality standards
- Maintain inventory of materials and supplies
- Ensure the studio environment is organized, safe, and efficient
- Develop and implement simple production checklists and visual supports
Community Engagement & Events
- Support the coordination and execution of small contracts, community events, and pop-up markets
- Assist with set-up, tear-down, and on-site operations at events, including FIFA-related activations
- Provide customer service and represent The CHANCE Centre in a professional manner
- Support participants in engaging with customers and building confidence in public-facing settings
Marketing & Communications
- Capture photos and videos of participant work and studio activities
- Support the development of basic social media content
- Contribute to storytelling that highlights participant progress and program impact
- Administration & Reporting
- Track participant attendance, hours, and progress
- Maintain production records, inventory logs, and order tracking
- Provide regular updates to program leadership on participant outcomes and studio activity
Qualifications
PLEASE NOTE: This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program.
To be eligible, applicants must:
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status in Canada
Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and be legally entitled to work in Canada
Other qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including neurodivergent youth and young adults, or demonstrated willingness to learn
- Experience with custom production tools (e.g., Cricut, heat press, sublimation, or similar equipment)
- Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse needs
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and community impact
- Additional Requirements
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Clean driver’s abstract (past three years) required upon offer
- Ability to travel within the Greater Toronto Area
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as required
