Role and Objectives:
The Millwright is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities. Working as part of a skilled maintenance team, this role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, supporting production targets, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Our company operates advanced manufacturing facilities, including sawmill and mass timber operations, focused on producing high-quality wood products through innovation, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety. The Millwright supports these operations by ensuring mechanical equipment and systems are maintained to a high standard, enabling reliable production and consistent product quality.
Responsibilities:
- Establish, implement, and carry out preventive and operational maintenance activities.
- Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical equipment issues.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and incidental tasks as required to safely and effectively complete assigned work.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance at defined intervals on mechanical systems and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with other trades and team members in a flexible, team-oriented environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and overall equipment performance.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Live up to the highest level of safety and environmental compliance. This means demonstrating full accountability for one’s actions, watching out for fellow employees, and confronting unsafe actions
- Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as requested or required.
Requirements:
- Red Seal Certification is required.
- 5+ years of experience working in an industrial setting.
- Experience with pump rebuilds, mechanical seals, hydraulic systems, bearing installation and other industrial equipment.
- Superior troubleshooting skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
- Experience working with a CNC is an asset.
Compensation Package:
- Wage: $51.00 per hour (ticket required)
- Four (4) Millwright positions are available, schedules:
- Millwright 1 – Friday – Sunday, 6:00am – 6:00pm
- Millwright 2 – Saturday – Monday, 6:00am – 6:00pm
- Millwright 3 – Rotating shift, 2 weeks day shift, 2 weeks afternoon shift
- Day shift is Monday – Thursday, 10 hours/day
- Afternoon shift is Monday – Friday, 8 hours/day
- Millwright 4 – Friday – Sunday, 6:00am – 6:00pm
