Overview
Private household in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking a reliable and compassionate Home Child Care Provider/Live-out Caregiver to care for two autistic children, ages 9 and 12, in the employer’s home.
Duties
- Supervise and care for the children in employer’s residence
- Assist children with daily routines including waking up, personal care, preparing for school, getting on the school bus and doing homework
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
- Special attention to detail while assisting during meals and snacks
- Accompany children to and from school, appointments, or activities if required
- Organize age-appropriate recreational and educational activities
- Support emotional well-being and social development
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home with special attention to child proofing.
- Follow parents’ instructions regarding therapy routines, behavioural support, and schedules. Training will be provided by parents.
- Perform light housekeeping related to childcare
Requirements
- Secondary school completion preferred
- Ability to communicate in English
- Experience caring for children, including children with special needs or autism, is an asset
- Volunteer Certificate for Childcare or First Aid/CPR certification is an asset
- Ability to swim is an asset
- Reliable, patient, organized, and caring

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
