Job Title: Lead Component Technician
Job Description
The Lead Component Technician will perform complete overhauls of aircraft components, focusing on the repair, service, and maintenance of hydraulic systems. This role involves working on critical aircraft hydraulic components such as landing gear, actuators, and fuel pumps, ensuring they meet safety, performance, and quality standards.
Responsibilities

Perform complete overhaul of aircraft hydraulic components, including landing gear, actuators, and fuel pumps.

Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble hydraulic units in accordance with technical manuals, blueprints, and established procedures.

Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic system issues to identify root causes and determine appropriate corrective actions.

Use blueprint and manual reading skills to interpret technical specifications and ensure accurate repairs and adjustments.

Conduct functional testing of overhauled components to verify performance and compliance with safety and quality requirements.

Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including repair records, test results, and parts used.

Work collaboratively within a small team to meet production schedules and turnaround times.

Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures when working with hydraulic systems and related equipment.

Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance repair processes and efficiency.

Participate in overtime work when desired to support workload demands and customer requirements.
Essential Skills

2–3 years of experience in hydraulic component overhaul in either automotive or aerospace environments.

Hands-on experience with hydraulic repair, service, and maintenance tasks.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical manuals.

Strong troubleshooting skills for hydraulic systems and components.

Solid mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulic system operation.

Ability to follow detailed procedures and adhere to quality and safety standards.

Effective communication and teamwork skills within a small technical team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working with Skydrol stand or Red Oil stand is a nice-to-have qualification.

Experience in aerospace maintenance or automotive hydraulic systems is an asset.

Comfort working with precision tools and test equipment related to hydraulic systems.

Ability to adapt to established processes while contributing to process improvements.

Work Environment
You will work within a small, close-knit team of approximately eight people in a specialized aircraft component overhaul environment. The role is based on a straight day shift schedule: Monday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Overtime is available if you choose to take on additional hours. The facility is organized to support detailed mechanical and hydraulic work, with access to the tools, equipment, and technical documentation required for precise component overhaul. The environment encourages collaboration, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
