Job Title: Application Administrator (General)
Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Canada
Prior experience in Banking or regulated BFSI environments is non-negotiable
We are seeking experienced Application Administrators to support enterprise applications within a Banking / Financial Services (BFSI) environment. This role is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of business-critical applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with regulatory and security standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise combined with experience in regulated environments, supporting applications across production and non-production environments.
- Administer, configure, and support enterprise applications (COTS and/or in-house systems)
- Monitor application performance, availability, and system health
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching activities
- Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and vendors
- Manage application environments across development, testing, and production
- Support deployments, releases, and configuration changes
- Maintain system stability and ensure minimal downtime
- Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes
- Work closely with infrastructure, database, and network teams to resolve issues
- Ensure timely resolution aligned with SLAs
- Ensure applications comply with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements
- Support access management, audits, and control processes
- Assist with vulnerability remediation and patch compliance
- Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
- Provide regular status updates, reporting, and operational metrics
- Support audit requests and maintain evidence documentation
- 3–7+ years of experience in application administration or production support roles
- Mandatory experience within Banking or regulated Financial Services environments
- Strong understanding of application lifecycle management and support processes
- Experience working with enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, trading, or internal systems)
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux environments and basic database concepts (SQL/Oracle)
- Experience with incident, problem, and change management processes
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics)
- Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Shell, or Python)
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of ITIL processes
- Experience supporting audit and compliance activities
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-availability environment
- Attention to detail and operational discipline
- Prior experience in Banking or regulated BFSI environments is non-negotiable
- Willingness to work in a hybrid/on-site model in the GTA region
- Flexibility for occasional after-hours support or on-call rotations
