Educational Assistant Position
The Whole School is seeking an independent, creative, innovative, and collaborative Educational Assistant who is passionate about supporting children in a meaningful and engaging learning environment. We are looking for an individual interested in educational leadership and committed to fostering student growth through relationship-based, experiential learning.
Our program emphasizes place-based education, outdoor learning, and small, well-supported multi-age classrooms that nurture curiosity, confidence, and connection.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support student learning under the guidance of classroom teachers
- Facilitate teacher-planned activities with individuals and small groups
- Assist with the preparation and organization of learning materials and classroom resources
- Observe and communicate student progress, participation, and learning needs to teaching staff
- Provide outdoor supervision and support during outdoor learning activities and play
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students
Qualifications & Assets
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently while remaining part of a supportive team
- Interest in outdoor education, experiential learning, and child-centered approaches
- First Aid certification is considered an asset

Position Details
- 0.4 FTE
- Salary Range: Equivalent to $43,000–$46,000 annually at full-time equivalent (FTE), prorated to position percentage
