This is a hybrid position based out of North York @ 243 Consumers Rd. You will work 4 days a week in office and 1 day remote. Some travel will be required.

The Director, Clinic Performance & Specialty Programs is a strategic and operational leadership role responsible for driving clinic stabilization initiatives and overseeing the development, implementation, and performance of Lifemark’s specialty clinical programs. This role partners closely with Regional Directors and cross-functional central support teams to identify and improve underperforming clinics while ensuring specialty programs are clinically aligned, operationally effective, scalable, and commercially successful.
The successful candidate will bring a strong clinical background combined with operational leadership experience, enabling them to effectively support clinic teams, guide specialty program development, and drive sustainable performance improvements across the organization.
This role will also play a key part in supporting Lifemark’s evolving healthcare strategy and future-state alignment with Shoppers Drug Mart, helping identify operationalize opportunities for integrated care models, interdisciplinary collaboration, and enhanced patient access to specialty services across the broader healthcare ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinic Performance & Stabilization

Partner with Regional Directors to identify current and forecasted underperforming clinics using operational, financial, staffing, patient care, and market performance indicators.

Develop and execute clinic stabilization strategies and action plans in collaboration with Regional Directors and clinic leadership teams.

Conduct operational and clinical assessments to identify root causes impacting clinic performance, patient experience, clinician engagement, and service delivery.

Work with Regional Directors to leverage centralized support functions including Human Resources and Talent Acquisition (recruitment and retention strategies), Finance, Marketing, and Operations.

Monitor clinic recovery plans, KPIs, and progress against performance targets.

Support clinic leaders with operational coaching, workforce planning, service optimization, and clinical program integration.

Identify trends and systemic challenges impacting clinic performance and recommend scalable solutions.

Support change management initiatives and operational optimization efforts across the clinic network.

Prepare performance reporting and recommendations for senior leadership.
Specialty Program Leadership & Interdisciplinary Care

Lead the strategy, operations, and growth of Lifemark specialty programs, including Vestibular Rehab, Pelvic Health, Concussion Management, Shockwave Therapy, Massage Therapy, and emerging specialty services.

Provide leadership and direction to Specialty Program Leads and support the ongoing development, standardization, and continuous improvement of specialty services across the organization.

Ensure specialty programs align with clinical best practices, patient care standards, organizational objectives, and market opportunities.

Partner with Clinical Excellence, Marketing, Operations, and healthcare stakeholders to promote specialty services, strengthen referral pathways, and improve patient access and continuity of care.

Develop and support clinician application, training, mentorship, and participation processes for specialty programs.

Establish criteria and governance for determining specialty service locations based on market demand, clinician expertise, operational readiness, and patient needs.

Monitor program performance through metrics such as patient outcomes, clinician engagement, utilization, revenue growth, and return on investment.

Support innovation and development of new specialty services and integrated care pathways based on emerging healthcare trends, patient needs, and organizational priorities.

Advance interdisciplinary models of care that enhance collaboration across physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, occupational therapy, mental health, pharmacy, and other healthcare disciplines.

Explore opportunities for co-located services, integrated programming, and collaborative care models aligned with Shoppers Drug Mart and broader enterprise healthcare strategies.

Contribute to scalable, patient-centered healthcare solutions that improve accessibility, convenience, clinical quality, and overall patient experience for Canadians.
Leadership & Collaboration

Build strong collaborative relationships with Regional Directors, Clinic Directors, Specialty Leads, and central support teams.

Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to specialty program leaders and clinic teams.

What we're looking for:

Regulated healthcare professional designation required (e.g., Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Chiropractor, Kinesiologist, Massage Therapist, or related allied health profession).

Active professional registration in good standing preferred.

7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, clinic management, or program leadership within a multi-site environment.

Demonstrated success improving operational, clinical, and financial performance across multiple clinics or programs.

Experience leading or supporting specialty clinical programs considered a strong asset.

Strong understanding of rehabilitation, interdisciplinary care models, and allied health service delivery.

Experience supporting integrated healthcare initiatives or collaborative care models considered an asset.

Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and drive measurable performance improvements.

Experience working cross-functionally with operations, finance, HR, marketing, and clinical teams.
