Gardener / Horticultural Assistant
Plant-Aide Gardening is looking for a hardworking, reliable, and positive team member to join our growing business serving Prince Edward County and the Belleville area.
This is a seasonal outdoor position averaging 20–30 hours per week. The work is physically active and takes place in a variety of weather conditions. We are looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and has a genuine interest in plants and gardening.
Responsibilities
- Weeding, edging, and maintaining garden beds
- Planting annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees
- Mulching and garden bed preparation
- Pruning and deadheading plants
- Assisting with garden installations and landscape projects
- Identifying common plants and following planting plans
- Monitoring plant health and reporting pest, disease, or maintenance concerns
- Maintaining a professional and friendly attitude with clients
Qualifications
- Gardening, horticulture, landscaping, or related experience preferred
- Ability to identify common plants is a strong asset
- Comfortable performing physical outdoor work, including lifting, digging, bending, and working in summer heat
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Comfortable working as part of a small team
- Valid driver's licence and reliable personal transportation required
- Horticulture students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
