We are looking to fill the position of a full-time Floater Staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Montessori Toddler/Casa teacher with an AMI or MACTE approved Montessori diploma and/or ECE and/or ECA
- A team player who is kind, caring and enthusiastic.
- Someone with a passion for teaching, who is flexible and who strives to help each child reach their full potential.
- Current CPR and first aid certificate
- Current criminal reference check, vulnerable sector screening
- Updated Immunization record
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist school's supervisor with all daily work
- Helping to prepare the classroom environment (sharpen pencils, photocopy, and tidy shelves at the end of each work cycle)
- Washroom visits. The Floater will gather groups of up to 8 children to visit the washroom (2-3 visits in the morning/afternoon work cycles)
- Snack preparation. Ensure that snack is brought to the classroom with all supplies necessary (plates/spoons) each morning and afternoon.
- Classroom Management. Floater will play a vital role in maintaining a productive and peaceful classroom environment. Redirecting children and ensuring they are being productive in the classroom.
- Craft, weekly craft preparation
- Library visits, monthly to gather books for monthly themes and Circle Time.
- Maintain current attendance records. (Daily attendance to be completed)
- Attend staff meetings, parent information evenings, parent/teacher interview evenings and any special meetings requested by the administrators.
- Notify the Administrators immediately of personal difficulties with children, parents or staff.
- Protect the privacy and working atmosphere of students, fellow employees and parents at all times.
- Train and supervise children in the execution of fire drills. Fire drills must be practiced once a month and recorded in the classroom binder.
- Report all accidents at once. Complete an accident report when required and have it signed and filed.
