About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Workshop Technician to join our Product Development team. In this role, you will support the development of new products by building and assembling prototypes, performing upholstery and fabrication work, preparing materials, and ensuring prototypes meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Assemble prototype products according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Perform upholstery, foam preparation, cutting, gluing, and fabrication activities required for prototype builds.
- Install and fit hardware, components, and subassemblies while ensuring quality and design requirements are met.
- Assist with prototype modifications and rework as directed by Engineering or the Workshop Supervisor.
- Identify and report assembly, fit, or quality concerns during prototype construction.
- Receive, inspect, organize, and maintain inventory of samples, fabrics, foam, and development materials.
- Prepare and safely transfer prototypes to the testing laboratory, ensuring all required documentation accompanies each prototype.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workshop by following 5S principles.
- Follow all health and safety procedures while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training in furniture manufacturing, upholstery, woodworking, fabrication, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience in furniture assembly, upholstery, prototype fabrication, or a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions.
- Knowledge of upholstery materials, foam preparation, cutting, gluing, and fabrication techniques.
- Experience safely operating hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced product development environment.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices and 5S principles.

Pay: $43,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
