Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Carpenter at the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-year level to join our construction team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop advanced carpentry skills through hands-on experience in diverse projects. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced Red Seal Carpenters and contribute to a variety of construction tasks, including residential, commercial, and restoration projects. A strong foundation in construction principles and a desire to expand your expertise are essential for this position.
Duties
- Assist in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate project execution.
- Perform concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work as required.
- Install cabinets, flooring, tile, siding, roofing, and perform construction painting and caulking.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, CNC machines, and other equipment safely and effectively.
- Contribute to framing, drywall installation, electrical wiring, plumbing rough-ins, and HVAC systems as needed.
- Assist with construction estimating tasks and material take-offs for project planning.
- Support heavy lifting and material handling to ensure safety and efficiency on-site.
- Participate in site cleanup, safety inspections, and ensure adherence to safety protocols at all times.
- Perform handyman repairs or assembly tasks as required for project completion.
Experience
- Prior experience or training in carpentry or woodworking is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction drawings is a plus.
- Familiarity with concrete forming, masonry, flooring installation, tile laying, siding installation, roofing, or restoration work is advantageous.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, or construction estimating will be considered a strong asset.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work from heights or in confined spaces as needed.
- Prior experience or working knowledge of construction materials and techniques will support success in this role. Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
