Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel estimating with the ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and proficiency in industry-standard software such as Building Connected and Construct Connect. The Project Estimator will play a critical role in ensuring our projects are completed within budget.
Duties
- Analyze project plans, specs', and other documentation to prepare cost estimates.
- Utilize software for accurate takeoffs and pricing.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions for accurate pricing.
- Develop detailed budgets that include labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and best practices in construction estimating.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
- Proficiency in Excel, or similar estimating software.
- Familiarity with cost control measures and pricing strategies within the construction industry.
- Previous experience on construction sites is preferred, providing practical insights into project execution.
- A background in construction management or project management is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, contracts, and technical documents accurately.
