Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety focused Concrete Foreman to join team and lead our field crew. This role is expected to manage daily operations on residential and commercial sites, ensuring all concrete preparation, pouring, and finishing, meet our industry leading quality standards. This is a “working foreman” role requiring both hands-on finishing expertise and strong team leadership. Key Responsibilities:
Crew Leadership & Training
- Supervise, coordinate and schedule daily activities for all crew members including but not limited to concrete finishers, laborers, and apprentices.
- Train team members in proper finishing techniques, tool usage, and safety protocols.
- Evaluate crew performance, delegate tasks, and maintain high morale
Technical Concrete Placement & Finishing Skills
- Oversee subgrade preparation, formwork, and rebar installation prior to pouring.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to ensure accurate elevation and grade.
- Must have the ability to operate a skid steer proficiently
- Direct and assist in placing, finishing, and protecting concrete surfaces (using screeds, floats, trowels, edgers, etc).
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust concrete mix or pouring schedule to guarantee proper curing.
Quality & Project Management
- Inspect work continuously to ensure it complies with company standards, building codes, and client specifications.
- Regularly check progress and report daily updates to the Project Manager.
- Manage material inventory, request needed supplies, and oversee equipment maintenance.
- Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OSHA and company safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Conduct daily safety huddles and morning meetings to ensure crew safety and awareness.
- Report any work-related accidents or near-misses promptly.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience as a concrete finisher, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership/foreman role
- Expert proficiency in flatwork, stamping, exposed aggregare, and/or vertical concrete finishing.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, stand for extended periods, and work in varied weather conditions.
- Ability to operate a skid steer proficiently is a requirement.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. OSHA certification is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent verbal communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
