Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Flooring Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of flooring materials, ensuring precise measurements, and delivering high-quality craftsmanship. Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation instructions to ensure accurate flooring placement.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary underlayments or adhesives.
- Install flooring materials such as tile, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, or carpet according to project specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively during installation processes.
- Measure spaces accurately to cut materials precisely and minimize waste.
- Perform related tasks such as caulking seams, sealing edges, and finishing surfaces for a polished look.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate project timelines and ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly.
- Assist with other construction-related tasks such as carpentry, masonry, or restoration work as needed.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics for accurate installation planning.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation relevant to flooring installation.
- Knowledge of construction processes including concrete forming, concrete finishing, and masonry is a plus.
- Ability to interpret construction estimating documents and schematics for precise material calculations.
- Strong carpentry skills including cabinet installation and construction painting are advantageous.
- Familiarity with caulking techniques for sealing seams and edges effectively.
- Electrical experience or plumbing knowledge is beneficial for integrated projects involving multiple trades.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various construction environments.
- Attention to detail, safety consciousness, and excellent problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
