Job Title: Skilled Fabricator/ Machinist
Note: This role is for night shift and pays a night shift premium of $2.20
Pay Range: $25.80 - $27.30
Job Summary:
The Skilled Fabricator / Machinist is responsible for fabricating and machining components and products. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint interpretation, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibility:

Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand project requirements and specifications.

Set up and operate various machining tools (lathe, mill, CNC machines) to create and modify parts according to specifications.

Operate small hand tools, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the job's needs.

Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on machines (i.e. change slats on plasma/laser, add coolant etc.).

Identify and report any mechanical issues to the fabrication supervisor.

Conduct inspections of completed work using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with quality standards and tolerances.

Report on issues, or defective parts to supervisor or lead hand.

Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies, and procedures.

Organize parts by job for welding or warehouse.

Other duties as assigned by the lead hand or supervisor.
Academic/Educational Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Technical degree or vocational training in machining or fabrication preferred
Required Skills/Experience:
-
Proven experience as a machinist or fabricator in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in operating CNC and manual machining equipment.

Strong understanding of metalworking techniques and materials.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints and schematics.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Experience operating machinery and knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques such as 5S would be considered an asset

Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane (training will be provided)

Ability to lift up to 50lbs with the assistance of a lifting device

Ability to use hand tools and power tools
