About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on, operationally sharp Assistant General Manager to join the leadership team at Fairfield by Marriott North Bay. This is a real operations role — not a desk job. You’ll be in the lobby, in the systems, and in the details across three core areas: Front Office, Breakfast Operations, and Hotel Accounting.
You’ll work directly alongside the General Manager and play a key role in keeping the property running at a Marriott standard, every single day.
What You’ll Own
Front Office Leadership
- Supervise and support Front Desk Associates across all shifts (AM, PM, and Night Audit)
- Oversee guest check-in/check-out, billing accuracy, and reservation management using Stay PMS and SPOG
- Manage GXP cases, Guest Voice reviews, and OTA review responses
- Ensure Bonvoy enrollment targets and guest satisfaction metrics are consistently met
- Handle group reservations, Sertifi authorizations, and payment compliance
- Be a visible, available leader for escalations from the front desk team
Breakfast Operations
- Oversee daily breakfast quality, food safety standards, and team execution
- Manage food ordering (twice weekly), temperature logs, and cleanliness checklists
- Maintain food handling certifications and ensure team compliance (Marriott-authorized training)
- Monitor pest control program and ensure documentation is current for quarterly GFSA submissions
Hotel Accounting & Administration
- Maintain the daily Income Journal and cash/debit reconciliation
- Process weekly Accounts Payable batches via HubDoc and QuickBooks
- Manage Accounts Receivable, professional billing, and client invoicing
- Complete month-end tasks: till counts, petty cash, MAT remittance, Bonvoy reconciliation, and Dropbox package upload
- Prepare biweekly payroll in ADP for GM review and finalization
- Build and publish the biweekly staff schedule
Schedule
This is a flexible, rotating role. You must be available for:
- Weekends (required)
- Evening shifts (PM: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM)
- Early morning shifts (6:00 am Start)
Shift assignments rotate based on operational needs. This is not a Monday–Friday, 9-to-5 position.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of hotel operations or hospitality management experience
- Comfort working across multiple systems (PMS, accounting, scheduling)
- Strong attention to detail — especially around financial accuracy and compliance
- A natural leader who can hold a team accountable while remaining approachable
- Ability to manage competing priorities without dropping the ball on any of them
- Experience with Marriott brands or systems is a strong asset (Stay PMS, SPOG, GXP, ADP, HubDoc, QuickBooks)
- Food Handler certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire)
