The Laundry Lead contributes to the overall success of the hotel by fulfilling The Fairfield by Marriott's expectations of superior customer service and quality standards of cleanliness by ensuring adequate supplies of clean linens and related items are available for distribution at the hotel.
Daily Responsibilities : Review laundry needs at the beginning of every shift. Replenishes stock and cleans room linens, by picking up, washing, drying and folding linens, towels, bathrobes, and according to efficiency and cleanliness standards. Separate out any soiled, torn or badly worn linen for possible discard. Maintains all laundry areas and housekeeping linen closets. Stocks supplies and maintains inventory levels within the assigned area. Informs the Executive Housekeeper of any shortages. Works within WHMIS guidelines for the safe handling of laundry and other cleaning chemicals. Is responsible for leading the Health and Safelty meetings on a monthly basis.
Acts as an ambassador, including making guests feel welcome and handling basic inquiries, when possible. Maintain a welcoming and friendly environment for guests and fellow team members. Other duties as assigned and required by the Executive Housekeeper.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience : Is committed to working safely, including adherence to safety regulations, and hygiene and cleanliness. Physical requirements include the ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 40 pounds, to stand and/or walk for an extended period of time, ability to stoop, kneel and reach, or perform repetitive foot and hand actions, and the ability to bend at the waist. Attention to detail: working carefully to make sure nothing is missed. Good time management and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
