MedCare Clinics is a multi-specialty medical clinic located in the Niagara Region.
Our clinic's mission is to provide exceptional medical care to the surrounding
communities. Our services include providing care in a family practice setting as well
as operating a walk-in clinic where new patients are always welcome. Our team
also includes specialty Physicians that practice Internal Medicine. Our clinic has an
on-site Blood Lab and also administers vaccinations and seasonal flu vaccinations
which are all provided by our trained and certified Medical Office Assistants and
Phlebotomists onsite. MedCare Clinics is looking to grow our team with the addition
of a Clinical Assistant. The Clinical Assistant will work under the supervision of our
qualified Family Physicians in a Family Medicine and Walk-In Clinic setting.
This position will require you to work in a dynamic, team-based environment and
provide support to patients with various acute and non-urgent medical needs.
Responsibilities of the Clinical Assistant under the supervision of a Physician
● Provide excellent patient care by assessing, diagnosing, and treating medical
conditions in a Family Medicine & Walk-In Clinic setting under the supervision
of a qualified Physician.
● Perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe
treatments as necessary.
● Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, x-rays, ultrasounds, etc.)
● Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including internists, specialty
practitioners, nurse practitioners, lab technicians, nurses, medical office
assistants and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care.
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic medical
records (EMR) systems.
● Educate patients on preventive care, healthy lifestyle choices, and treatment
options.
● Ensure compliance with medical regulations, safety protocols, and clinic
policies.
Qualifications:
● Completion of an MD or MDBS Program (required)
● Passing grade of the QE1 and NAC Exam or USMLE Step 1 and/or Step 2 Exams
(required)
● Standard of card according to the Canadian healthcare system
● Experience in a clinical or medical setting, preferably in a walk-in clinic or
urgent care environment.
● International Medical Graduate with extensive Clinical Assistant or
independent practice experience
● EMR (Accuro) experience (preferred)
Additional Requirements:
● Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 44 per week
Experience:
- Clinical Assistant Program : 1 year (preferred)
- US/UK Exams : 1 year (preferred)
- Medical Clinic: 1 year (preferred)
